Low Slope - Built-up

Built Up roofing Built-up (BUR) remains the industry standard offering protection to flat and low slope roofs. These membranes are referred to as built-up due to a process of overlapping several layers of roofing felts with hot or cold adhesives. The felts are made of organic, fiberglass or polyester composition. The hot adhesives will be one of three (3) types; asphalt, modified asphalt or coal tar pitch. The cold adhesives are either asphalt or coal tar pitch. A layer of gravel is applied which protects the roof from the weather.
