Wood Shakes are made of cedar, cypress and redwood. They are highly rot-resistant and may last up to 50 years if installed properly and maintained. Very limited to colors. The best are pressure treated with preservatives and less resistant to fire than other types. Make sure they are treated with fire-retardant chemicals.
